Urbano Chemello, father of the current owners, innovator of production processes, among the forerunners in the Italian denim scene.

Tramarossa.
Blue Passion.
A canvas, a family story.

Denim has always been part of the Chemello family’s identity.
The story began in 1967, in Vicenza, one of Italy’s historic manufacturing districts, with Urbano Chemello, father of the current owners: Roberto, Paolo, Pierluigi and Marialuisa.
The late 1960s marked the moment when denim began redefining itself. At the time, denim was beginning to move beyond workwear. Younger generations started wearing jeans in new ways, turning them into a personal expression of style. Urbano Chemello immediately understood the potential of this evolution and began developing his pioneering vision.
This is where the idea of Tramarossa was born. Starting as a tailor, Urbano moved into manufacturing trousers for third parties, collaborating with some of the most important companies in the region. Soon after, he was among the first entrepreneurs to produce and market his own denim line, in what would later become the heart of the Veneto denim district.
Over the last two decades, with the transition to the company’s second generation, the Chemello family launched the Tramarossa brand, a project that remains deeply rooted in its origins while expressing the excellence of Italian craftsmanship through distinctive and iconic details.
The recent rebranding places the red thread at the heart of the brand identity a symbol of character and authenticity, used to highlight the unique construction and detailing of each garment. The “trama rossa” , literally the red thread, is also the signature detail of selvedge denim. From the very beginning, the project was built around this fabric, created for those who appreciate denim at its highest level. This is a story rooted in passion, craftsmanship and dedication. Over time, it grew into a modern and highly structured organization committed to exceptional quality and service, marking the transition from tailored denim to luxury denim.
What has remained unchanged is the sartorial approach: meticulous attention to detail and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence. The luxury segment allows Tramarossa to reach a broad yet discerning audience customers who value quality and choose denim as an expression of their individuality and personal style.

Continuous improvement.
The pursuit of the perfect jean.

Over the past fifteen years, the brand has evolved from premium denim into a reference point in the world of luxury denim. Selvedge alone was no longer enough. The vision became one of combining the finest Italian, Japanese and European fabrics with a modern and highly structured production system, where technology and precision serve to enhance craftsmanship rather than replace it.
Every stage of production is carefully controlled and refined, with a constant focus on quality and consistency. Behind the industrial expertise that manages complex production and logistics, the company is driven above all by passion and a constant commitment to creating garments that reflect its identity.
